Liz Deleo, born in Anchorage, Alaska, has a rich background of living and traveling across the globe. Currently based in Kittery, Maine, she is a full-time illustrator whose work is deeply inspired by themes of her travels, mental health, pop culture, literature, and gaming.

Professionally trained in photography with a BA from Marymount Manhattan College and The International Center of Photography, Liz's realization that illustration was the optimal medium for conveying her experiences and ideas didn’t occur until later in life, but marked a transformative moment in her artistic career. Since then, she has devoted herself to mastering this art form, rigorously developing her skills through self-instruction, residencies, workshops, and professional mentorship.

Through her detailed, Where’s Waldo-esque illustrations, Liz's art serves as a portal to vibrant whimsical worlds, for people to escape, explore, laugh, and even practice mindfulness within.

As an artist who has navigated her own mental health journey, her illustrations, content and voice resonate particularly with adults. Liz skillfully addresses tough subjects with a unique style characterized by colorful, cartoon-like, nostalgic pastel visuals. This sugar-coated approach allows her to engage with serious topics in an accessible and uplifting manner so viewers can easily fall into environments that feel viscerally rich, comforting, fun, and familiar, no matter their experience outside of them.
